Ski Day

The teachers for the day...Kaya, Mark, Ryker and Lucas
KVCS has a yearly ski day. I have attended every year I've been here, but this year was the first ever year that I strapped a snowboard to my feet. On previous years I skied and sat in the lodge with computer, books, and coffee. I got a kick out of being the student as my kids coached me down the slope. Memorable day indeed...

  1. Your kids have gotta love you for trying!! Remember the first time Donny snowboarded? He was pretty little and he took right off and scared us all. I think we need a ski trip to HooDoo.....so I can sit in the lodge and drink coffee and read a book =) Love, mom

  2. I do! He did a lot better than I did! I still can't sit exactly right and that trip was two weeks ago! That snowboarding turned out to be a lot of fun regardless of the pain. I agree about the Hoodoo trip though. T'would be fun! I'd join you for coffee after a run or two. I remember you would always have our place staked out where we could come dry out and eat cookies...lots of homemade cookies.

  3. Ahhh - Memories, old and new. I have some memories of Hoodoo too! I must admit, hard as I tried, the lodge is where I felt most comfortable (perhaps that ought to read, "Most in control"). I'm glad you let the kids be the teachers. I agree. That just endears you more to them.

    1. Lerrina,

Agreed! They definitely are more endearing because of it. And yes, perfectly said, "most in control" in the lodge!
